Hello

Welcome! This is the space where you can learn more about my journey with Crohn’s, how I discovered the importance of cooking for myself in college, and why I started creating Crohn’s-friendly recipes to share with others.

My Story

I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease in 2019, and throughout high school I experienced frequent flares that made everyday life more challenging. Navigating classes, sports, and social life while managing my health taught me early on how unpredictable Crohn’s can be.

When I started college, I quickly realized I had to take more control over my nutrition. Dining hall food and late-night snacks weren’t always Crohn’s-friendly, and I often found myself struggling to balance my health with a busy student schedule. Learning how to cook for myself became a necessity, but it also turned into a creative outlet.

Over time, I experimented with different recipes, discovered which foods fueled me best, and found ways to adapt meals so they wouldn’t trigger symptoms. Not everything worked perfectly, and it’s still a learning process, but creating meals that support both my health and my lifestyle has been empowering.

I started this site to share those ideas with others, especially students who may be going through similar challenges. My recipes aren’t medical advice, and what works for me might not work for everyone, but my hope is that these resources can inspire new ways to approach food, make cooking less stressful, and show that it’s possible to eat well even on a student budget and schedule.
